Mindful eating is ridiculous or at least the hunger rating exercise sounded too ridiculous for some.
I get it.
Frankly, had I told that to myself of five years ago, that guy had definitely reacted the same…
But you know what?
That old me was just stupid.
All of the changes in myself and my life in the last 5 years were a result of doing ridiculous-sounding things.
I still remember the first wtf moment when I took that mental training course. As a side note, I was looking for a way to motivate myself better to get work done but misread some of the course descriptions.
So, there I was and the teacher was talking about the subconsciousness and a connection to our body and introducing us to the ideomotor effect. And of course, we had to do the exercises. All together. 12 students.
We looked each other in the eyes, all with the same “that looks so embarrassing face” …
So I put my stupid thoughts away, told myself “the course is great so far, so let’s just do it and see what happens, and everyone else is looking stupid too. who cares” and just did it.
It was the best thing ever.
And the trigger for tons of other changes.
I am so happy and grateful.
And it might be the same for you if you just try those stupid-sounding exercises I tell you.
Give it a try. It’s your turn.
