What you do on a daily basis, your actions, your behavior, all make or break your own success. But did you know that it will also influence the people around you like your kids or even coworkers?
Good and bad.
And, of course, in a way we are often not aware.
We all know those sayings “like parents, like kid” and it often seems to be true with others. But when looking at your own kid’s behavior, we tend to forget that.
A lot of our behavior is formed on a subconscious level and we learn by imitating others. It’s like monkey sees, monkey does.
If you behave like a shitty person to others like some woman in a Manhua I read yesterday, your kid will probably acquire the same shitty behavior.
Let’s take that storyline as an example. Of course, it is exaggerated but that makes it perfect to see.
See, there was a mother with a small kid and the kid tries to steal, pushes a young woman over the rail on a cruising ship, and later shoots at someone with a crossbow.
And in all those situations, the mother did defend the kid and put the blame on the victim, and twisted everything so they get the victim role. While, as it turned out later, being the main bully in her village.
It was obvious that the kid is just mirroring her actions and no wondered turned out like that.
She even continued with that shit when her son died because they messed with the wrong guys. When the kid shot the crossbow but missed, the bad guy just shot the kid.
And as a good mother, she, of course, started to blame the group of the main character, even they had nothing to do with the incident. Whut?!
Yeah, it’s fictional and exaggerated but the truth is there.
Kids pick up your behavior and how you do things if you like it or not. They watch you 24/7/365 and subconsciously copy your ways of dealing with life.
That can be as funny as hearing your own sentences when they play or one of your partner, matching the exact tone, etc. to more extreme things like blaming others for one’s own mistakes.
So, if you don’t like your kids’ behavior, you should look at yours first and start becoming a role model for the behavior you want.
The earlier the better because at one point, we parents will have less influence than the peer groups and that’s natural.
