Mindfulness saved me this time too

Practicing mindfulness is a wonderful thing for me. It saved my ass so often. This time two. Twice.

And funnily, it doesn’t feel like practicing at all. No sweaty workouts or piano lessons with a boring teacher.

See, I got approached by Infostack a couple of weeks ago about this bundle. They wanted to have my sleep meditations in it.

Wow. Yeah, cool why not.

So, I talked with them, learned about the conditions, etc and finally joined. But I did not get hyped as most do or already fantasized about the money coming in as my old me had done.

Nope.

Being mindful taught me that having expectations is gonna hurt me later on.

Because when expectations and reality clash, it can put you off track. The more expectations and reality differ, the heftier the impact.

That can range from simply being disappointed for a few minutes to pushing me on a rollercoaster of emotions and everything falls apart.

But no more. Being able to break that, thanks to being aware of my mind.

So, seriously, I didn’t have any expectations of how that deal will work out. Sure, I did prepare to gain anything from that. Mainly getting new customers from outside.

But still no expectation on the outcome.

Excellent because reality was brutal. Imagine you throw a party and invite everyone you know and then crickets. Nobody even shows up at your party. Not even your mom.

Yeah, that’s like what happened. At least hearing crickets would have been nice but be it.

That’s where practicing mindfulness saved me a second time.

I learned to distance myself from my emotions and not let them take over my mind.

Goodbye sadness, rollercoaster, and the other BS. Not gonna take you.

Instead, I could accept reality as is and it even sparked an aha-moment that something has to change.

Which I happily will tackle now.

And you can have those benefits too by practicing mindfulness…
