I recently saw a post on YouTube with an image of two old men lying on their “death beds”. The left was frowning and sad-looking with the thought bubble of a game controller. While the right one was smiling with the thought bubble of him dancing with a woman, sky diving, motorbiking, swimming, and another “action”.
Unsurprisingly, the “common sense” in the comments was that it’s right and you better do x, y, z.
While for me it was just “WTF utterly ridiculous rubber bullshit”.
Why judge in that stupid way?
Maybe the guy on the left was sad that he couldn’t play anymore. Maybe he tried the other guy’s stuff, too, and it just sucked for him.
Maybe he met a nice woman, but she turned his life into hell. Why would you smile at the end about that?
Why judge those things at all in the first place?
Does it make folks feel better about them?
Superior to the others?
That they made the “right” decisions?
Probably the same as everybody around them.
Because they are all so individual that they love the same hot shit as the other flies?
Judging those things is utterly stupid.
Do the things that feel right to you.
And the things you anticipate your future self will feel right, too.
And ignore the flies.
