Taking a break and getting a fresh perspective to thing works wonders when you feel stuck in work, life, or even on a smaller scale or are in a rut.
It doesn’t always have to be life-changing stuff.
Finding that bug or figuring out why your site’s not working. Let it be, go for a walk or do the dishes or talk to your cactus or cat.
And suddenly, *peng*, you got the solution.
Distance helps.
But sometimes it’s not enough.
You need a different perspective.
To totally look at the thing from different angles.
From angles you’ve never considered or were even aware of before.
And for some stuff, the best perspective change you can do is to move to a different place for some time.
Preferably to a different culture.
Where everything is new.
Maybe totally different from your day-to-day life.
And voila, the new perspective lets you see things from a different angle and suddenly, solutions are visible that you never saw before.
But that’s not the only thing.
A fresh perspective also can let you cherish the things you got. Because now you can appreciate them again.
Or maybe notice them at all.
Or everything looks strange when you got back home as it happened to me now.
Got back yesterday evening from an awesome week I spent with my daughter in Brussels, Belgium, and somehow everything back home looks strange 😂
Funny, isn’t it?
But that’s the power of changing perspective.
Try it next time you feel stuck or in a rut.
