Your mind makes it worse

Often the scary things we imagine will happen, are just made up by our minds and don’t reflect reality at all.

Confront your fears, do it anyway and you’ll notice it wasn’t as bad as you thought.

Our minds become incredibly creative when it’s about avoiding things. We’d rather lie and hide and avoid others, even from our parents, until it hurts us physically and emotionally than confront the thing.

And every time we avoid it, our mind makes it worse and the perceived problem becomes larger and larger. Almost like having a t-rex in your living room.

But when you confront it, the t-rex shrinks to a mouse and all the things you feared will happen, don’t. crickets.
