Re: Respect is earned

Last time I said that respect and trust are faster gone than we think.

And not only on a personal level, it can also even affect others with the same labels, aka groups.

Even when you didn’t do anything, it can be gone because of a peer.

Doctors, teachers, and police are good examples.

All demand respect out of their profession or their uniform.

Because of historical reasons, they get it to a certain degree. That was fine on a societal level.

Until too many bad apples spoil it.

Then it goes downhills for everybody in those groups.

And even the base trust and respect are gone.

To a point where folks mistrust them in general until proven otherwise.

Which leads to a respectless and trustless world.

Sad, isn’t it?

But luckily not hopeless.

Because it can be re-earned by the good apples and we’d need to weed the bad ones out.

Now, are you a good or bad apple?
